COVE is proud to partner with OffshoreWind4Kids to host the 2025 Nova Scotia Floating Wind Challenge, a key initiative in building future capabilities and developing a skilled workforce needed to support Nova Scotia’s ambitious offshore wind energy goals. As the province seeks to triple its current energy output through offshore wind, this challenge provides post-secondary students with hands-on experience in sustainable energy, encouraging them to pursue careers in this growing industry.
Students from across Nova Scotia, Canada, are invited to design a floating support structure for a Vevor 400W turbine, competing for cash prizes and the opportunity to represent Nova Scotia internationally in Viana do Castelo, Portugal. The local challenge will take place in the Halifax Regional Municipality between February 17th and 23rd, 2025 (date and location to be confirmed).
To learn more, join our virtual kickoff event this Friday, October 25th, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., where industry leaders will provide insights and answer questions. This event will be recorded for those unable to attend.
